Torch on APP Modified Membrane

Torch on APP modified membrane used at Bituminous waterproofing for substructure and roof. APP modified membrane are manufacturer out of a mixture of bitumen and polymers like APP.

Description

Shivam Superior Multi Poly Plas range of modified bitumen waterproofing membranes is manufacture from rich mixture of bitumen and selected polymers blended together to obtain excellent heat resistance, UV resistance and cold temperature flexibility, Modified bitumen is then coated onto a dimensionally stable carrier to obtain excellent tensile strength, tear and puncture resistance.

Uses

Shivam Superior Multi Poly Plas is used as waterproofing/Damproofing membrane for protection of various substrates in wide range of applications.

Application

Application procedure may vary slightly depending upon site conditions. However given below are general guidelines.

Priming

Apply bitumen primer to a clean smooth and dry surface by brush, roller or spray.

Allignment

Unroll and align Shivam Superior Multi Poly Plas and re roll correctly before torching. Overlap should be minimum of 100 mm.

Torching

Use gas burner to heat substrate and underside of Shivam Superior Multi Poly Plas Embossing on the lower face of the membrane allows membrane a fast and safe laying when embossing disappears after torching the membrane is ready to stick. Roll forward and press firmly against the substrate to bound.

Sealing

Heat both the overlaps and use round tipped trowel to seal the overlap. Excess compound should be smoothened and pressed into seam using hot trowel.

Upstand

All angles and abutments should be sealed with extra care to ensure full bondage. Seal the edges well into the grooves and protect with polysulphide sealant.

Description:

Shivam Multi Polyplas has a center core coated on both the sides polymeric Waterproofing making it deal for waterproofing purposes. The Center core consists of 20 micron High Molecular- High Density Polyethylene (HMHDPE) Film. It is a polymeric waterproofing membrane consisting of five layers. The HMHDPE Film is the reinforcement barrier against water & moisture. The Polymeric membrane has an elongation exceeding 300% to absorb all a Structural movements and has a very high tensile strength and cold flexibility to adapt to all contours.

Shivam Multi Polyplas (Aluminum) is also available with 75 micron aluminum topping, a heavy duty polymeric waterproofing membrane composed of a high molecular high density polyethylene (HMHDPE) as center core of 20 micron prefects against water and aluminum topping to prevent distinguished of bitumen and provide UV protection.

Uses

Shivam Multi Polypus is recommended for waterproofing of rooftops, basements and terrace gardens.

Method of Application

• Prepare the surface after cleaning it thoroughly to obtain a smooth surface.
• Apply a coat of Bitumen (mfg by Shivam Tar Products Primer @ 0.3 Liter per sqm.
• A coat of hot applied Bloom Bitumen (Grade 85/25) @ 1.2 Kg per sqm.
• Overlaps between Shivam Multi Polyplas are handled by Torching the membrane along with a minimum 8/10 cm seam in width/lengthwise, to endure correct adherence with overlap of 75 mm to 100
• Shivam Multi Polypus is to be topped with screed or tiles.

Caution

The Torch on method should be done when applicator is familiar with it, otherwise the conventional pour and roll method should use. The torch on method may be used when the product is 3 kg. and above.

Safety:

Use of hand gloves and suitable cream is recommended during application. Respirators should be worn. Keep away from fire and fumes.

Storage:

This should be stored under, out of direct sunlight and protected from extreme temperatures. Shelf life is up to 12 months when stored as per recommended storage conditions.
